Cory was one of the first trainers in Canada to achieve full certification with Gym Jones. He is the principal of Trigger It Personal Training with over 20 years experience of helping others live healthier and happier lives and is an International Sports Sciences Association (I.S.S.A) Certified Elite Coach and Trainer.
We train the body as one-piece to integrate it, and to tie the body, soul and spirit together. Practice makes habit: when we overcome different physical and psychological challenges, we develop the habit of overcoming whatever challenges we may face in sport and life.
Training Philosophy:
It's more than just coming to the gym, it's about a lifestyle balanced with energy, strength, endurance, nutrition, recovery, family and happiness.
Born and raised on a farm in rural Canada, Cory learned the values of hard work, ambition, integrity and teamwork from an early age. One of his first introductions into an active lifestyle was learning how to skate and play hockey by the age of four. When he wasn't playing competitive hockey, he was playing football and baseball and working on his family farm.
At the age of sixteen, Cory suffered a major ATV accident that nearly paralyzed him and almost took his life. Since that time, he has had to deal with weight gain and weight loss as well as the side effects of other physical and psychological effects of such an injury. This injury was one of the main reasons why Cory became a personal trainer.
Cory's an active, energetic and healthy Husband and Dad to two young and energetic boys who also has to find the time to get his own training and workouts in. Cory can also relate to most of his clients over 40 with his age, having a family, dealing with hectic schedules, aches and pains from past injuries that take longer to heal and even a slower metabolism.
Before kids, he had the time and energy to train as a competitive runner of marathons, half marathons, 10k, 5k, adventure and obstacle races. Today, workouts are programmed to be quick, efficient, with more focus on proper form, sleep, nutrition, and recovery practices to help keep training ongoing and active without all the setbacks of soreness, and the nagging aches and pains that can come with aging.
Cory's training and programming is directly influenced by his ongoing learning, his passion, knowledge and 20+ years of experiences and the specialized training experience he gained with Gym Jones and Bobby Maximus.
After fully applying the experiences and learning philosophies and theories, he has a passion for teaching and training individuals who want to change their health and life.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to never give up, "BE committed to DO what it takes, to HAVE what you want" in all areas of one's life.
