Did you know that Cory Maystrowich @ Trigger It Personal Training was named Canada's Top Trainer in 2024 and a 2025 nominee for Fitness Trainer of the year by the prestigious Impact Magazine. Cory has also been a nominee of Calgary's coveted White Hat Award and has been recognized for his excellence in Calgary.
At sixteen, a near-fatal ATV accident almost left me paralyzed. My journey transformed from an active teenager to someone who struggled with weight gain and had to relearn how to walk after prolonged immobility. This experience ignited my passion for fitness and strength training.
Over 31 years ago, I began reading Muscle & Fitness magazines while training with my father's equipment. Despite initial struggles with my own results, I pursued university education, professional certifications, and sought mentorship from elite trainers and strength coaches across North America. This knowledge transformed my life, and now I'm dedicated to helping others overcome similar challenges.
WHO I HELP
I work with people facing the same struggles I overcame: yo-yo dieting, motivation issues, self-limiting beliefs, poor food relationships, time constraints, injuries, family obligations, and misinformation. My passion lies in inspiring others to live healthier, happier lives by providing accountability, education, and a new perspective on fitness and wellbeing.

My goal is to teach people how to maintain a balanced, healthy lifestyle while improving their fitness, strength, and overall well-being—becoming better for themselves and role models for their families.

I provide hands-on, personalized coaching and treat every client like a close friend. Our strong communication creates lasting relationships with exceptional client retention. My clients gain not just results but knowledge, understanding, and confidence in managing their own fitness and nutrition. Eventually, they develop the ability to understand their bodies while continuing to enjoy new training programs and challenges.
My approach emphasizes: Showing up consistently, putting in the work, competing with yourself, trusting the process, and enjoying the journey. I present myself authentically, sharing my personal struggles and victories to create genuine connections with clients.
MY VALUE PROPOSITION
I inspire and motivate people—primarily men—to live healthier, happier lives. I help busy professionals and fathers over 40 regain control of their bodies and build strength from the inside out. Through education and coaching, I teach clients to take ownership of their results and achieve independence. By focusing on proper lifting techniques, clients experience visible and tangible physical improvements. My priority is building relationships through communication, consistency, and dedicated effort.
Cory's an active, energetic and healthy Husband and Dad to two young and energetic boys who also has to find the time to get his own training and workouts in. Cory can also relate to most of his clients over 40 with his age, having a family, dealing with hectic schedules, aches and pains from past injuries that take longer to heal and even a slower metabolism.
Before kids, he had the time and energy to train as a competitive runner of marathons, half marathons, 10k, 5k, adventure and obstacle races. Today, workouts are programmed to be quick, efficient, with more focus on proper form, sleep, nutrition, and recovery practices to help keep training ongoing and active without all the setbacks of soreness, and the nagging aches and pains that can come with aging.
Cory's training and programming is directly influenced by his ongoing learning, his passion, knowledge and 20+ years of experiences and the specialized training experience he gained with Gym Jones and Bobby Maximus.
After fully applying the experiences and learning philosophies and theories, he has a passion for teaching and training individuals who want to change their health and life.
